2020 is a year many are trying to forget.
Much of the conversation has been about “getting back to normal” and “the old routine”.
But what if this was actually a break in the continuum, the start of something new, a chance to do something different?
For many visitors who vacation on 30A, their routine has already been severely disrupted. Working
from home, kids learning online and the gyms, restaurants, cultural and sporting events which
punctuate each week have had to be put on standby or cancelled.
And now that some Georgia, Missouri, Louisiana and Texas schools are saying the children won’t be
coming back until later this year, or in some cases not until 2021, some visitors are saying “Why are
we going back home at all?”
According to Hollie Jones, owner of local Property Management Company 30A Beach Girls, more and
more visitors are enquiring about staying longer.
“Normally the rental season starts winding down after Labour Day” said Hollie.
“High season gives way to short breaks, weekends away and, after Thanksgiving, the arrival of the
Snowbirds looking for warmer weather. But this year, we have had many, many visitors asking about
extending their stay into September, or enquiring about renting for the month of October, or even
booking through to the Christmas holidays.
“It seems with the kids set to resume their studies online or in virtual school, parents working from
home via Zoom calls and Microsoft teams, now may be the time to see if beach life – 30A style – is for
you?” wondered Hollie.
Before upping sticks and moving anywhere new it is always a good idea to give it a thorough test run
first. While everyone loves their week in the sun, most people want to know what really living here,
long-term, feels like.
And, according to 30A Realtor Martin Liptrot, “booking three months trial living at the beach while
the world is turned upside down” may be a smart decision to see if this is a move you would like to

working from home being a real alternative, many potential buyers from Atlanta, Dallas, Birmingham
and Nashville are getting in touch to look for a permanent home at the beach.

Dear 30A Beach Girls Family,
First and foremost, I hope you are safe and healthy.
I am sure with the continued support of all our local businesses, residents, homeowners and public officials we can get through this difficult situation quickly.
Last week, Florida Governor DeSantis announced a 14 day suspension of all short term rentals and urged existing vacationers to leave early.
While we await further announcements from local officials I want to update you on the actions we have already taken and plan to take in the coming weeks at 30A Beach Girls to deal with the situation we are in.
Our primary mission remains to represent our homeowners and provide the greatest vacation experiences for our guests. A big part of being able to achieve this on a consistent and on-going basis is the wonderful team of booking agents, cleaners and maintenance crews we work with, many of who have been with me since the early days.
Keeping the core of this team together is one of my objectives. Our cleaners and repair teams do a fantastic job day in and day out during the season and, while we have had fewer requests for rentals than normal at this time of year, I am doing everything I can to provide shifts and work for these unsung heroes.
Our commitment to presenting our homeowners’ properties as clean, safe places is of extra importance now. That is why our cleaning teams have put in place additional procedures to ensure all properties are deep cleaned, sterile and disinfected before every changeover. We have included the recommendations of the CDC and others in our cleaning programs and for those homes which are rented, we are providing a mid-week deep clean to ensure we stay on top of the situation.
Many of the restaurants in our area are currently only providing ‘to go’ service, and the supermarkets have limited supplies of certain products, such as toilet paper. To make sure our guests are focused on having fun and enjoying our wonderful properties, we are providing food delivery and shopping services to make their stay easier. And for those who want to ‘dine in’ in-style, we are sending our 30A Photo Bus to them to capture the moment!
For those guests who booked directly with us, we are offering a refund policy but because many of our guests are return visitors who we love to entertain, we are also offering a 110% credit for rebooking and including a free beach bonfire night for them and their guests to say ‘Thank You’.
We know many of our guests appreciate the little extras we are famous for providing and we want to continue that tradition in this difficult time.
As well as looking after our guests who are booked with us now, we are also thinking forward about how to best market your property for the Summer and beyond.
We have recently upgraded our website and provided extra functionality. We will be updating our content in the coming weeks and also looking at our photography and videos to make sure our properties are marketed and promoted successfully. We are talking to our guests about their experiences, the things they enjoy most about the area, the neighborhood and the individual properties. We want to share these testimonials and reviews so future guests can enjoy our properties too. We are enhancing our social media promotions and platforms to make it easier for our guests to share their vacation stories, pictures and favorite moments.
This is a difficult time for many in the hospitality business; from homeowners to cleaners, rental companies, waiters and bar staff. So I am incredibly proud of the 30A Beach Girls family for pulling together, helping each other out and making our guests experiences the best they can be,

This is why as Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact us all, we must take pro-active precautions to assist in minimizing the spread of the virus here in beautiful North West Florida on 30A.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has advised visitors to avoid large crowds. To help achieve this he has ordered bars and clubs to close and for restaurants to reduce the number of diners. Many restaurants in our area have gone one step further and are offering ‘to-go’ order service only.
While our public beaches currently remain open, some communities have taken extra measures to safeguard their guests. Seaside’s business beach access is closed, their beaches remain open and all the town’s stores and businesses will close from March 21st through April 30th, restaurants will however provide to go orders. St Joe’s WaterColor and WaterSound clubs and amenities have also closed and their management will make a reassessment on March 31st. Alys Beach has taken similar precautions too. Seacrest Beach is still operating their pool, beach shuttle and restaurants. They have adjusted occupancy capacity to meet the governors request of social distancing. Rosemary Beach has closed it’s pools and gym, beaches are still open. Beach service at this time is still available. Please keep in mind things are evolving daily and we are more than happy to keep everyone updated.
With the health and safety of our owners, visitors and staff as our top priority, we too are making some changes to how we operate and are updating some of our services to make your guest experience the best it can possibly be.
In addition to the regular cleaning and hygiene services we already provide, we are also offering our guests a Midweek Cleaning free of charge so you can be assured your home is as pristine as it was the day you arrived a full cleaning and linen change out is provided. We also know you will be eating more meals at home due to the restaurant restrictions in place and we are offering a free Food Pick Up and Delivery Service to make this a simpler and more enjoyable experience for you. We will continue our free grocery pick up service as well. And to help you make it a ‘Special Night In’ our fabulous Vita VW 30A Photo Bus will pay you a home visit to take pictures of your whole group having 30A fun and making perfect memories!
The situation continues to develop nationally and further restrictions or changes may come into force over the coming weeks. We know this is interfering with your vacation planning so we are offering a 100% Refund or Rebooking Service to all of our guest with reservations between now and April 15th that were booked before March 15th. We always want you to have the best possible vacation experience and if this means delaying your vacation until later in the year we will help you make that happen. 30A Beach Girls are dedicated to making your vacation a memorable experience for all the right reasons.
