Grayton Beach State Park

Make your next escape to the year-round sun and warmth with a visit to Florida. Many visitors plan plenty of beach time, hiking, biking, and other time in the sun. Slow down and spend some time getting to know the outdoor environment of Southwest Florida with a visit to Grayton Beach State Park. The nearly 2,000-acre beach is consistently ranked among the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the U.S. It is located at 357 Main Park Road in Santa Rosa. The beach is open 8 a.m. – sundown, 365 days a year. The contact phone number is 850-267-8300. Entry is $5/vehicle.

Coastal Forest at Grayton Beach State Park

Wander a unique coastal forest dominated by scrub oaks and magnolia trees that have been bent and twisted by the Gulf’s salty winds. Four miles of trails snake their way through the forest, offering glimpses of unique features, and even wildlife in their natural habitat. Be on the lookout for Florida black bears, white-tailed deer, gray foxes, and other animals and birds throughout the park.

Bring the Four Legged Friends

Domestic pets are allowed to join you at the beach and day-use areas of all Florida state parks. Leash laws are enforced, and you’re asked to pick up after your pet. Pets are not permitted on beaches, playgrounds, bathing areas, cabins and cabin areas, park buildings, or concession facilities, so plan your visit accordingly.

Land Activities

Pedaling, walking, or hiking are just some of the activities on 30A for to enjoy! Outside the park and close by is the Walton County paved walking/biking path that runs the full length of 30A. Turn your gaze skyward for birding, and see shorebirds and others, including bald eagles and osprey, as they roam the beach.

Water Activities

Rent a vessel and boat the waters off the shores of Grayton Beach State Park. Enjoy every boating activity you can think of, then spend some time in the park. Obtain a Florida fishing license and cast a line in Western Lake – a coastal dune lake, swim, or paddle around in a canoe or kayak. Please note there are no lifeguards.
